New Micro Sedan from GEELY

Micro Cars joined hands with Geely Holding Group to assemble Geely MK in Sri Lanka. This is the Newest member of the Micro Sedan family.

 

Geely is one of China’s top ten auto manufacturers and also among the country’s top 500 firms. Established as an independent firm in 1986, Geely launched

 

its auto manufacturing business in 1997 and is today a fully integrated independent auto firm with a complete auto eco-system from design and research and development to production, distribution and servicing.

 

GEELY-VOLVO Car Corp. Acquisition

 

After more than 18 months of negotiations, Geely bought the Volvo Car Corporation (VCC) for 1.8 billion U.S. dollars from Volvo's former owner, Ford Motor Company. The acquisition gave Geely 100 percent ownership of VCC and its related assets. This is the biggest overseas acquisition by a Chinese automaker.

 

GEELY also owns the Australian Automatic Transmission Manufacturer Drivetrain Systems International, a.k.a. DSI.

DSI Manufactures automatic transmission units and sells to major companies, and is the world’s only independent enterprise manufacturing transmission units which does not manufacture vehicles. DSI manufactures four-speed and six-speed high torque automatic transmissions for Ford, Chrysler and Ssangyong Motor Co., mainly for Actyon & Kyron
