FOUNDER
Micro was founded by the Dr.Lawrence Perera. His commitment to excellence and value-driven behaviour is at the very core of what MICRO CARS is today.
Founder - Chairman of Micro Cars, the first company to assemble and manufacture automobiles in Sri Lanka. He was also instrumental in setting up the BMW franchise in Colombo, obtaining the franchise rights for Alfa Romeo in Sri Lanka while also spearheading the resurgence of the Ssang Yong brand and making it the market leader in 2010.
In a career in the Automobile industry spanning 35 years, Dr. Perera has been involved in the evolution of brands such as VW, Mazda, Audi, Peugeot, Chrysler, Mitsubishi and Aston Martin. A member of the motor industry in the UK, CAE FIMI he also holds a Diploma in Automobile Engineering from the Ceylon German Technical Institute.

With over 28 years of service with Micro Group of companies, Mr.Asela Lihinikaduwa is one of the key pillars at Micro Cars Ltd, who is currently playing a pivotal role in the future of this prestigious internationally recognized local automobile brand "Micro" in Sri Lanka.
His passion in heavy commercial Vehicles & Luxury Buses made the pathway to establish iconic business partnerships with major European as RENAULT, SCANIA and Chinese brands such as HIGER & YUTONG which has revolutionised the heavy transportation & Passenger transport industry in Sri Lanka. He is also the driving force behind the introduction of the world renowned French lubricant brand "MOTUL".also held key executive roles in many Trade Associations such as Ceylon Motor Traders Association, Sri Lanka Automobile Component Manufacturers Association etc. and has given guidance, shared experience and knowledge to improve the local automotive industry in Sri Lanka. He holds a masters degree in Business Administration and a Post graduate diploma in management, in addition his 33 years of experience in the Automobile industry locally as well as overseas. Also Mr.Lihinikaduwa is an honored member of Justice of Peace (All Island).
Mr. Gordon, a marketer by profession, a well-known individual in the automobile industry who has exposure with over 20 years of experience in the automobile industry has gained extensive experience working with global renowned automobile companies such as SsangYong Motor Company, Geely Automobile International Company, Yutong Bus Company and various other companies. He has been with the Micro Group for over 15 years and pioneered the Micro operations with regard to international relationships, supply chain management while contributing immensely to boost the sustainability of the business through introduction of new business opportunities and product portfolios. Also Mr. Gordon Chung is currently contributing as a capacity of Managing Director of the Micro Korea office.
Ravika Perera., is a highly qualified professional in management and finance with a Bachelor of Science in Management and finance with Honors and a Master of Business Administration. With over 15 years of experience in the automobile industry, has developed a deep understanding of the sector and has proven expertise in driving business growth and financial success. Throughout her career, Ravika has held various senior management positions in a leading automobile company.
She has successfully implemented strategic management practices to optimize operations, enhance profitability, and achieve sustainable growth. Her strong business management background has enabled her to make informed decisions to implement effective strategies to maximize performance and ensure Financial stability.
Ravika is well-versed in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. She has a thorough understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements specific to the automobile industry, ensuring that all financial activities are conducted in accordance with legal and ethical standards. In addition to her finance and management expertise, Ravika possesses exceptional leadership and communication skills. She has a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative work environment, and driving cross-functional collaboration to achieve organizational goals. Her ability to motivate and inspire others has consistently resulted in improved productivity and employee satisfaction.
Mr. Janaka, an Adept & meticulous Senior Financial/ Operational/ Business Management Professional with over 22 years of experience of expertise in leading/ developing/ executing fiscal operations, operating/ monitoring appropriate financial controls, forging synoptic/ reliable projections & operational budgets, identifying trends & making compelling business arguments, surpassing revenue targets & driving financial standards whilst ensuring absolute legal/ regulatory compliance in fast-paced environment.
Also, Mr. Janaka has in-depth MNC exposure across telecommunication, FMCG and automobile sectors specializing in financial management and corporate strategy. His main focus at Micro Group includes but is not limited to; Financial Reporting, Corporate Finance, Corporate Planning & Budgeting and Strategy Formulation and also recognizing/ resolving complex problems, implementing systems & optimizing productivity, decreasing error rates & increasing bottom lines.
He is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA, UK) and a Member of the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka and a Finalist of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICASL) of Sri Lanka.
Mr. Prashan Perera is professionally qualified in the Apparel Trade having over 34 years of experience and with several educational qualifications such as a Diploma in Clothing Manufacturing, a Certificate in Clothing Manufacturing, a Certificate in Industrial Management and is also a Member of the Clothing and Footwear Institute of London.
Also, Mr. Prashan has held Managerial positions in the largest apparel factories in Sri Lanka that serve the American and European markets. During his 35 yearlong carrier in the apparel trade, he was in charge of Quality controlling , Production Management , Merchandise Management , Supplier and Vendor Management & Business Administration whilst overseeing four production facilities in Sri Lanka & Overseas. During his tenure in the Apparel trade, he was one of the main driving force to implement "Toyota Production System" (TPS) which focuses on improving through put time , "Just in Time" which reduces stock holding costs , Lean Manufacturing , ON-Time delivery and was responsible for a combined annual revenue of over USD 90 million per annum for the group.
